The Pirates of Penzance Vienna Theatre reviews
Elvis Costello was Brilliant!
"Sheer Brilliance" to describe last night's show were the two words. A pleasant surprise from what I expected was The Pirates of Penzance and his Sugarcanes. Both inspired and amazing was their tribute to American music, a mix of country, folk, and rock. It sounded and felt like a group of guys jamming together on a front porch in the ol' South. The Pirates of Penzance's new material was fresh and never did the crowd seem to lose interest with it, to many of those who may have been disappointed that there was little acknowledgment of his earlier stuff. I think that Mr. Costello will be looking at grammy's in several different categories for this album. Lucinda Williams was very good as well, oh and btw.
